• Seildar Lothrir - Level 5

    Sorcerer

  •      My earliest memory is a defeaning, earth-shattering roar. Recalling it gives me instantaneous goosebumps, like unknowingly walking by a specter in the deepest, coldest, darkest dungeon you can ever imagine, and the worst part about it - I understood what was roared, almost as if the roar melded back and forth between words and pure agony. An Onyx dragon with its black mirror-like scales and a seemingly burdensome tail which it swung with such fluidity and grace appeared to flee from the scene of its crime. Flapping its immense wings and propelling itself towards the mountains to the north after leaving a trail of destruction in its wake, this was the source of the roar. It reverberated and shook the land: "I am unrelenting ...... I am unstoppable." I never told anyone what I heard, how could I? Who would believe that I could understand it? Would I even want anyone to know? My obsessive research into the arcane and the draconic began just as quickly as the dragon destroyed my life and those in it.

In my adolescence, between working odd jobs and pursuing the rare research opportunity, my magical and draconic library of tomes (some illicit) grew to one of almost unhealthy size. I invested the few coins I earned to collecting tomes and old, barely legible scrolls. I studied them for days. Days became weeks, weeks became months, and months, well, months became decades. I was eventually able to manipulate the arcane energies I sensed around me. It was incredible how everyday commoners walked by immense concentrations of energy without a care in the world, power that could easily kill or maim if wielded ever so slightly incorrectly. I was able to move objects with, at first, deep and intense concentration, but it soon developed into requiring a small amount of effort as blinking or breathing. I was determined to learn all there is to know about the arcane and the draconic, and I was itching to venture forth from the safety of my village in search of something grander. I sensed I had something greater within me, and it was finally time for me to seek it!
